POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the M&E Coordinator, the M&E Assistant is responsible for supporting the M&E department in establishing a strong M&E system for FHI 360’s humanitarian response. The employee will design and use an electronic database to capture program data; ensure data quality using different data quality assurance mechanisms; document all M&E-related files; and assist FHI 360 technical teams in establishing their respective proper documentation systems.
M&E Assistant is guided in his/her work by this job description, standard operating procedures (SOP), and the current regulations of the FHI 360 branch in Ukraine.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
- Ensure that M&E systems and tools are in place and being implemented at the field level and communicate any issues or inefficiencies that arise, to the M&E coordinator in a timely and proactive manner.
- Participate in developing the project/periodic M&E plan, consistent with the work plan.
- Participate in post-distribution monitoring of different distributions made by the program.
- Take the lead in developing/updating data collection tools as needed (including the community feedback mechanism system) in the Kobo and Commcare platform.
- Conduct regular data quality checks in the project databases.
- Support the effort of documentation and sharing of program results, ensuring the sharing of lessons learned and good practices.
- Support the compilation of regular reports from field locations.
- Assist in updating and managing UHARP programmatic databases as well as the online dashboard.
- Conduct field visits to monitor program activities and provide support to the program team in the use of digital data collection tool.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of experience and training in participatory result-based M&E or any M&E-related positions.
- University Degree or equivalent experience in statistics.
- Conversant in software packages for data collection, analysis, and visualization (including proficiency in Kobo, Commcare, and PowerBi).
- Good Excel knowledge and skills.
- Good understanding of Project Cycle Management and gender mainstreaming.
- Experience with designing and/or implementing qualitative and quantitative M&E data collection, management, and analysis methods, including tracking outcome indicators, conducting mixed-method program evaluations, and report writing.
- Fluent in Ukrainian and excellent in English.
