PocketBook, a leading innovator in e-readers and digital reading solutions, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Legal and Privacy Specialist.
Requirements:
- law degree;
- excellent writing, editing, and research skills in English and Ukrainian;
- 3+ years of professional experience in IT, IP, and international contract law;
- 2+ years of professional experience in the privacy and data protection sphere;
- deep knowledge in drafting, revising, and negotiating different kinds of agreements, including distribution, software development, and license agreements;
- deep knowledge of GDPR, other data protection laws (e.g., ePrivacy Directive and BDSG-new), and soft law sources (e.g. opinions and guidelines of European Data Protection Board, Article 29 Working Party, DPAs);
- CIPP/E and/or CIPM would be an advantage;
- awareness of and experience in working with international standards such as ISO27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS), as well as OneTrust Data Management or equivalent data protection management system, would be an advantage;
- highly motivated, responsible, and interested in legal and privacy matters;
- attention to detail, accuracy, and good soft skills.
Key responsibilities:
- drafting, legal analyses, and review of various kinds of agreements for day-to-day company operations (e.g. IT development, license, sale and purchase, supply, distribution agreements, etc.), participating in the negotiation process, and providing other legal support;
- researching, analyzing, and providing legal opinions on related matters;
- supporting and supervising IP registration (trademarks and patents), managing and maintaining the company’s IP portfolio;
- monitoring compliance with data protection laws in different jurisdictions;
- tracking and running regular updates on the records of processing activities and related company’s inventories via a data management system;
- providing advice and recommendations to ensure compliance of the company’s products and services with data protection regulations;
- developing and implementing policies (e.g. company’s internal high-level policies, privacy notices) and procedures to ensure the organization is compliant with data privacy rules and regulations;
- drafting data processing agreements;
- conducting privacy impact assessments and internal data protection audits;
- handling requests from personal data subjects, complaints, and incidents;
- day-to-day legal support of the company’s business matters.
Probation period – 3 months.
Possibility to work from office or remotly.
