Chief Marketing Officer, CMO

MARIEMUR is looking for a CMO that takes a customer obsessed approach to drive growth of our e-commerce and launching retail business. You will work with the founders alongside leaders of Content, Community and Social Media, Creative Design, Product Design, Advertising, Production and Finance departments. Your goal will be to develop and execute strategies to clearly communicate the value of MARIEMUR’s brand and leather accessories and lingerie sold at mariemur.com to our target audiences. The main focus of the communication is to empower our customers and help them feel confident in their own skin leading them to living a full, rich, and bright life with the focus on their personal desires.

WHAT does a CMO?

  • Develop a customer research practice to build robust and actionable segmentations, insights and market trends
  • Development of customer surveys
  • Design powerful messaging and breakthrough activations
  • Create differentiated owned channel & content strategy including organic social & editorial, brand partnerships and collaborations and community activations
  • Search and develop new sales channels
  • Partner with programming teams to deepen relationships with creative communities globally, source potential teachers and develop experiences that increase brand engagement online and offline
  • Set, manage, and implement a holistic paid/owned/earned marketing calendar with a focus on building brand awareness among new cohorts, increasing branded search, driving traffic, engagement and ultimately revenue
  • Develop and maintain brand standards and attributes, and work closely with all external-facing teams to consistently reinforce brand objectives
  • Establish goals and measure performance of all marketing campaigns, optimizing strategies to drive growth and revenue generation
  • Develop an efficient marketing operation, with defined workflows, clear roles and accountabilities, and high quality outputs
  • Drive loyalty strategy to build customer awareness and engagement
  • Shorten the time to value for every user in the product experience
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with marketing, product, fulfillment, and customer success teams
  • Optimize user acquisition funnel and ensure the message is compelling and consistent across all channels and marketing efforts (Events, email campaigns, web pages, promotional material, etc.)
  • Analyze user behavior and conversion data to identify our best potential users and leverage this data to better target and engage with them
  • Guide, mentor and develop a cross-functional team of marketing & creative professionals across content, social media/influencers, PR/communications and creative design.
  • Propose an annual brand marketing budget and effectively allocate and manage the budget to optimal impact for the brand and business
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of high performing, results oriented marketing professionals

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of leadership experience and proven track record in marketing and brand strategy
  • Deep creativity and vision for brands with a track record of developing winning ideas and campaigns that make a difference
  • Experience in high-growth, start-up environments ideally in eCommerce, B2C marketplaces
  • Experience developing and leading global teams
  • Outstanding decision-making skills and ability to drive progress and produce results with little oversight
  • Excellent project, workflow management and communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines simultaneously and switch tasks fluidly to be flexible with demands and changes in business
  • Intimate knowledge of creative, fashion & design communities
  • English speaker
  • You’re someone with deep expertise developing a global marketing strategy and roadmap in partnership with content, brand, product, marketing and PR teams
  • A strong understanding of the complete brand management process and experience leading a campaign from start to finish
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise in digital analytics tools, attribution models, and reporting on key marketing metrics such as Customer/Subscriber Acquisition cost and ROAS
  • Strong ability to glean insights and tell a story from data and analytics, inspiring action and change
  • Hands on experience with paid digital campaigns (SEM, Display, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and overseeing vendors and platforms
  • Scrappy «startup mentality»
  • Must be an idea generator, in the know about target talent/partners
