Middle Test Automation Engineer (Geo Location System)

The goal of the project is to develop a multi-component system, which is capable of determining a user device's geographical location in the operator's network with sufficient accuracy and relay this information to other commercial or emergency applications.

The system can calculate the position of the device by using information accessible on the device itself and by querying the mobile network for location information. The GPS coordinates then are transferred to the proper application.

The product implements 3GPP and OMA standard interfaces therefore network operators are able to use it in their standard mobile networks.

Responsibilities:

• Basic Scrum activities:
• Working on TA coverage extension. Coverage analysis
• Auto-tests design and implementation for defined scope
• TA Framework core adjustment depending on project needs
• TA integration into dev process, including CI process
• Review of artifacts delivered by other colleagues, including both test artifacts and test automation code
• Assistance with test environment setup
• Regular participation in testing activities (Post-installation, Robustness, System Configuration, Stability etc.)
• Regular spent efforts tracking and sharing
• Regular and clear status and progress reporting
• Regular communication with Customer and Sigma team members
• Backlog management
• Dailies conduction
• Scrum-of-Scrums participation

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of TA goals, areas of applicability, activities, deliverables
• Understanding of TA efficiency concept and attributes. Knowledge on main TA KPIs
• 2+ years of commercial experience in TA on Java 8+
• Strong understanding of OOP paradigm and its projection to code
• Understanding of most common code design patterns and paradigms, ability to clearly recognize them in own code
• Experience in TA Framework architecture design from scratch and / or existing TA Framework architectural decomposition
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with at least 2 of specified technical excellence practices:
• Strong experience working with VCS (GIT), ability to organize and communicate branching strategy for TA
• Strong understanding of Linux eco-system specifics, solid experience with shell scripting (ssh, vim, grep etc.)
• Participating in CI process establishment and/or CI process deliverables usage
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment
• Good understanding of the objectives and techniques of planning/estimation
• Experience in creation and/or working with main SW testing docs: Test Cases, Bug Reports, Test Plan, Test Strategy, Status reports etc.
• Experience in direct communication with client and/or client team
• English - Upper-Intermediate +
• SOLID, KISS, DRY principals following
• Participation and/or conduction of code review sessions
• Code conventions setup and / or following

WILL BE A PLUS:

• Experience in work coordination of several lesser peers
• Experience in TA efficiency tracking and communicating to client
• Experience in creation of TA related documentation - TA Plan, User/Dev guides, TA Framework API documentation, Javadoc/Classdoc, Test run report etc.
• Experience working with Gerrit code review platform
• Experience in TLM solutions usage (TestLink or similar) and TA integration
• Experience in conduction of TA-related trainings, workshops, KT sessions
