Middle PHP & JavaScript Web Developer

At Shopit we are developing a large-scale online consumer Shopping Search Engine for all of Europe. Our goal is to make all products, brands and retailers searchable in one shopping search engine. To achieve this we are using big data, data analysing, parallel processing, search engine logic and social shopping functionality together with modern web design and user experience for both web and mobile devices. In short we are creating the world's largest product database.

One of these systems is "backend administration system". It is written in PHP + JS, HTML and CSS (it even has own client-server component system). The main responsibilities of the system is to connect and display huge volume of data that is distributed between many databases and services, and provide good debug tools for other Shopit systems.

Responsibilities of the position 

• you will be part of our team developing and maintaining our backend/frontend administrator application written in PHP5/JavaScript
• at least 1-2 years of experience as PHP and native JavaScript + jQuery web developer 
• strong understanding PHP OOP fundamentals 
• strong knowledge of HTLM, CSS 
• strong experience with MySQL
• flexible and open-minded personality 
• writing simple, clean and pragmatic code
• good English in speech and writing

Desired qualifications and skills:

•  experience with Propel (ORM)

Additional good to have qualifications and skills: 

•  web design / UX experience

You need to have good English in speech and writing to cooperate with the rest of the team in Sweden.

The position is full-time at our completely new modern office in central Kiev (near Metro Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Zolotye Vorota, together with perhaps some short trips to our main office in Vaxjo, Sweden. (Also full-time work permit and re-location to Sweden could be possible in the future if you like this).
