System Analyst “Unblocker” (IRC119444)

GlobalLogic Ukraine is inviting a System Analyst “Unblocker” to join its Kyiv office.

Airbyte is an open-source data portability tool. It allows users to move their data across APIs, databases, data warehouses, and data lakes in all directions.  

Most companies have data spread across different services and systems and the volume of this data is growing. In order to make the best decisions, companies are looking for a way to consolidate this data into the warehouse or date lake of their choice and then ask data scientists and business analysts to extract insights in order to build a competitive edge.

 There are existing cloud solutions today with Fivetran and StitchData but both fall short in the number of connectors that they provide. This results in companies having to build and maintain a secondary system internally to accommodate missing connectors. Also, both Fivetran and StitchData are cloud solutions which means that many companies can’t work with these services because they cannot let data leave their premises for security reasons.

Airbyte solves the following problems:

• Provide an open-source solution so organizations can contribute the connectors that are missing thus addressing all connectors

• Provide a self-hosted solution to solve the security problem

• Disrupt existing pricing models that are most of the time based on volume.

Requirements:

• Upper-Intermediate English; 

• Very strong verbal and written communication skills;

• 4+ years professional experience in IT;

• Awareness of the latest IT industry and digitalization trends;

Experience with:

• Requirements analysis;

• Working in an international distributed teams;

• The clear understanding of SDLC processes and phases;

• Experience with different delivery processes and practices (Agile, SCRUM, Kanban);

• Autonomous / self-starter;

• Collaborates in a team effectively;

• Resourceful;

Desirable

• Business education;

• Product Management experience;

• Master degree or higher (in Computer Science or similar);

• Knowledge of different API’s (e.g. Social Networks, Payment Gateways, Google services, etc.);

• Engineering background;

• Experience with OpenAPI (Swagger), Postman.

Responsibilities:

• Working in an international distributed team;

• Communicate with PM, PO, other engineers, architects, QA and other colleagues and stakeholders;

• Participation in delivering processes;

• Working with technical documentations;

• Support of developers: an important part of the process is to unblock developers' work by creating test accounts, test/sandbox environments to test connectors and populate them with data. This greatly varies in difficulty/complexity.

Some examples of this work:

• Create a Stripe account and hit their HTTP API to populate the sandbox account (relatively easy)

• Create a Google Ads account, run a small ads campaign (including creating any taglines, sample images, etc..) to populate the account with data the connector can test. This is needed because GoogleAds doesn’t offer a sandbox (medium difficulty, requires good autonomy)

• Create a Shopify store, populate it with fake products, purchase some subscriptions from the store, and connect it to Recharge, a subscription payments platform, to test our Recharge connector (harder, requires good autonomy)

• This could also involve emailing or calling partnership or sales teams to explain to them what Airbyte is and why we need this account etc.
