Site Social Performance Manager/Environmental-Social and Impact Officer

At the moment we are looking for Site Social Performance Manager/Environmental-Social and Impact Officer to participate in a number of construction projects across Ukraine.

What would I need to do:

• Evaluate the legislative framework, that will apply to the projects, analysis of the local, national and international environmental and social laws.
• Collect environmental and social basic indicators: collection of raw data during studies of social and economic and environmental profiles.
• Identify and assess the effects: determine and describe potential substantial environmental and social consequences of alternatives of projects and assess them. Identify substantial potential environmental and social consequences (direct and indirect), using the consequences determination methodologies proposed on the course of the research.
• Propose measures for boosting the positive effects and removal/ mitigation/ compensation of undesirable consequences. Determine and assess residual effect.
• Plan environmental and social management. Develop a plan of environmental and social management, which shall define actions necessary for implementation of the projects' recommendations, including environmental and social monitoring, necessary at the stage of implementation of the project.
• Carry our general coordination of the project. Maintain records of inspections, audits of projects with respect to the environment, occupational safety, fire safety, social responsibility and formation of final summarizing reports (provided daily, weekly reports).
• Checking and verifying the documentationof the contractor or subcontractors with health and safety and fire prevention, making proposals in case of deficiency;
• Continuous monitoring of the client's workplace. In the event of problem and deficiencies found, make immediate action proposals to the responsible safety coordinator / area supervisor or to the other area Manager;
• Participation or proposation in the preparation, modification of existing risk assessments;
• Participation on accident and near miss investigation;
• Carry out inspection of workplaces in order to reduce a number of occupational accidents and diseases;
• Audit the workers and supervise the employment processes on the site;
• Assist the project Managers/Area Managers with data input, data analysis and trends and discussing safety observations;
• Applyand keep up to date the ESMMP and confirm it addresses all relevant environmental and social obligations;
• Prepare/Organize a site induction related to the workers' rights, social related training for all on the site, and maintain linkages between the ESMS and human resources management systems;
• Update, maintain and apply the ESMMP and Social Performance Plan;
• Ensure that the Environmental and Labour applicable laws are respected on all projects;
• Ensure that the ESMS and ESMMP (together with topic specific sub-plans) are implemented and maintained in their respective areas;
• Take immediate corrective actions in case of observation of any breach to the project environmental/social and safety rules.

Am I fitt to the job's condition:

• health and safety/environmental and social related certificate or diploma;
• above 2 years experince in safety/environmental and social field;
• knowledge and compliance with the safety/environmental and social procedures;
• must be familiar with general construction practices, personal protective equipment for

construction, and have knowledge of current safety/environmental and social regulations of the country;

• desire to learn, develop and improve own skills;
• team player;
• active MS office user;
• good communication skills.
