Head of Legal

For our client, a large national industrial group, we are looking for an experienced Head of Legal to manage the Legal Department.

Our client is seeking an experienced legal professional majoring in business, commercial and contract law as well as preferably M&A, with 4+ years of managerial experience with a national or international company.

Key responsibilities

• Managing and controlling the full scope of legal issues of the group
• Managing a group of lawyers
• Establish and manage legal strategy and processes for partnership and sales team
• Create contracts and drive negotiations for all commercial and transactional work
• Advise on general governance, commercial, and compliance matters
• Draft legal documents, as well as negotiate, design and prepare contracts, policies and agreements
• Review new business relationships with vendors and subcontractors
• Analyze legal issues relating to proposed partnerships and products
• Review and track company contracts, and business documents
• Manage outside counsel as necessary
• Work closely with commercial and technical teams in drafting and strategizing various agreements for strategic partnerships and work with other vendors
• Work with commercial and finance teams to manage risk and ensure business needs are reflected accurately in agreements across the company

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in legal advisory function, including business & commercial law, contractual law, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investment and/or private equity
• 4+ years of managerial experience with a national or international company
• Experience with international transactions will be an asset
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Significant level of both professional and personal maturity
• Practical and proactive problem-solver; confident, mature, calm under fire, with a positive attitude
• Ability to manage multiple projects, and a high-level of professionalism.
• Strong work ethic for a fast-paced environment
