Web Developer BigCommerce

Responsibilities:

• Build highly-available, high-performance, redundant, and scalable ecommerce applications for global retailers and brands using BigCommerce and other digital platforms.
• Build high-performance, maintainable user interfaces using the modern web technologies.
• Collaborate with the project teams to define feature specifications and timelines.
• Build new features with a focus on testability, extensibility.
• Engage in technical discussion of new solutions and architectures.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain and improve quality.
• Write code that is high-performance, maintainable, clear, and concise.
• Support an open, positive, and energized culture.
• Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience with JavaScript
• Expert with at least one modern client-side JavaScript framework such as Angular, React, Vue, Ember, Handlebars, Node.js
• Strong skills in HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SCSS or LESS
• Experience in building mobile first & responsive web
• Working knowledge of JavaScript task runners such as Webpack, Gulp, and Grunt
• Understand pattern libraries and design systems
• Strong desire to learn new languages, frameworks, and design patterns
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and ticketing systems such as Jira
• Solid understanding of version control, preferably with git
• Experience with SaaS platforms or Cloud Computing is a strong plus
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Strong debugging abilities across all major browsers
• Have a demonstrated ability to get stuff done
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
• Experience monitoring and operating microservices is a strong plus
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs is a strong plus
