We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Strong DBA Engineer to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and optimization of our company's databases. This position requires a technical background in database administration, along with the ability to provide 24/7 on-call support to accommodate our shifted time schedule.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in database administration, with a focus on relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Knowledge of SQL scripting and query optimization techniques.
• Understanding of database architecture principles, including replication, clustering, and high availability configurations.
• Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning tools.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Availability to participate in an on-call rotation for 24/7 support, including nights and weekends, to accommodate the company's shifted time schedule.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members across different time zones.

Candidate Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance and optimization of company databases to ensure availability, reliability, and performance.
• Participate in database design and implementation efforts, including schema design, capacity planning, and data migrations.
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as backups, restores, and patching, to uphold data integrity and availability.
• Monitor database performance metrics and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to support application deployments and troubleshoot database-related issues.
• Adhere to database security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical database incidents and emergencies.
