Senior Scala Engineer #6594

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Our customer occupies the leading position in mobile security. Its cloud-based highly-loaded system with millions of users, which is capable of predicting & helping to stops attacks on Android and iOS in early stages. The teams are responsible for core services in the cloud, making them fault-tolerant, optimal from a performance perspective and handling high load.

We expect the team to work in close contact with stakeholder on the customer's side.

You will have a chance to:

• Contribute to highly-loaded application in the cloud
• Take end-to-end ownership for production services
• Identify and encourage areas for growth and development.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take part in requirements analyzes
• Interact with customer and provide technical solutions
• Conduct project design reviews and code reviews
• Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative, consumer-facing products
• Drive features from conception to deployment in an agile team with continual delivery
• Work with distributed services/microservices in AWS
• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
• Participate in the On-¬call escalation path (12/7)
• Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software
• Report to TL about current tasks status, technical and other risks
• Be a technical mentor for less experienced team members
• Provide support to QA and other internal teams

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field/degree, and/or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of experience in developing software (Ruby or Java or Scala)
• Commercial Scala experience, 1+ years
• Unit testing experience
• Think at scale, and with high availability
• Can work with cross-team members on large and complex projects
• Good experience with public cloud providers, preferably AWS
• Sufficient English level for communication (spoken& written)
• Fast research and learning skills

WOULD BE A PLUS

• Experience with Finagle
• DevOps experience
• Ruby/RoR knowledge
• Experience with reverse proxy
• Network routing knowledge
• Experience with nixops and datadog
