Payroll Technician in the Financial Management Office

MAJOR DUTIES: Under the supervision of a Senior Voucher Examiner incumbent provides support to the Financial Management Office activities with specific responsibility to processing of payroll and accounting transactions, maintaining, reviewing and verifying data and information to prepare assigned payroll or designated accounting reports. Coordinates the payroll process with other sections/offices ensuring that relevant entitlements and differentials are paid accurately and in accordance with regulations, that payroll dates are met without fail and at the same time guaranteeing integrity in data and reporting. Prepares a variety of payroll related documents. Responds to inquiries regarding Mission payroll procedures as well as resolves discrepancies with payroll and benefit information or documentation. Establishes and maintains individual fiscal records for employees and suppliers that arise during the course of disbursements processing.

 

EDUCATION: Completion of minimum two years of college studies.

 

EXPERIENCE: Two years of performing progressively responsible work in general administrative functions, payment processing, audit, or accounting is required.

 

LANGUAGE: Fluent (speaking/reading/writing) English* is required.

 

*This may be tested.

 

Fluent Ukrainian or Russian is required.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Require to perform advanced math, including calculations using fractions, percent, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: principles and techniques involved in payroll preparation, monitoring and control; payroll related accounting practices. Must understand Ukrainian and international banking regulations and procedures as they affect electronic funds transfer system as well as with local Ukrainian fiscal laws and regulations.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work under minimal supervision and use independent judgment. Must have excellent organization skills and customer service skills. Must have intermediate computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Communicating with diverse groups, maintaining confidentiality, meeting deadlines and schedules, setting priorities, and working as part of a team with detailed information/data and frequent interruptions.

 

WE OFFER: Annual salary of 15. 084 USD (subject to tax deductions as required by Ukrainian law) and benefits package.
