REACH Initiative are looking for motivated junior researchers and analysts, who are passionate about improving the humanitarian response in Ukraine to join our team of experienced, dedicated humanitarians in our office in Chernivtsi.

About REACH Initiative

REACH is a unique humanitarian NGO, which provides research, data, and analysis to support more effective humanitarian action in crisis contexts. By providing precise and reliable information on the humanitarian situation of populations in Ukraine, REACH’s work informs better delivery of aid and more transparent decision making. In Ukraine, REACH has a supportive and closely working team, spread across seven offices, all of whom are dedicated to producing high quality research to improve the situation for people in Ukraine. REACH is seeking entry-level candidates with some experience in assessments or report writing to join our growing team as Junior Researchers. The ideal candidates will be new graduates or early career professionals, who are motivated to develop their skills and learn in a supportive environment, whilst helping the humanitarian response. 

Duties and Areas of Responsibility

• Support research to inform the humanitarian response in Ukraine. Depending on the team you join, this could include research on social protection, cash and markets, economics, water and sanitation, health, housing, the environment, or many other areas.
• Produce outputs, including designing interesting factsheets, drafting short written reports, and producing eye-catching and informative presentations
• Develop your skills into an area of technical specialism, with the support of our Specialist Assessment, Data and GIS teams. 

Person Specification

• Experience in research or report writing - for example, from a university degree, or previous work experience
• Prior experience in the humanitarian sector is desirable but is not required 
• Prior experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint) required 
• Fluency in Ukrainian and/or Russian and good spoken English required. 
• Good English writing skills are required.
• Highly motivated and passionate about improving the humanitarian response in Ukraine

Terms and Conditions

This full-time post is for an initial 6 months, with the possibility of renewal following successful completion. We offer a competitive salary, based on the candidates experience and skills.
