About the project:
Edvantis is looking for Java Software Engineer to work on the project of our German-based partner, the leading insurance software provider on the market. The project includes the software, consulting and cloud solutions for insurers. Our partner helps insurers to adapt to fast-changing customer behavior, develops the standard solution and different customized services across all insurance sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Java development in a modern JEE architecture
- Requirements analysis, conception and implementation of innovative software, bug fixing
- Model-based development for interfaces, plausibilities, business logic, interfaces and batch programs
- Creation of developer tests as a part of the test automation
- Be ready to solve different challenging tasks
- Integration of new components into existing architectures
Position Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience working as Java developer
- Good practical knowledge in an object-oriented programming language and a software platform (Java / JEE)
- Experience in agile software development and / or other IT process models
- Knowledge of software architectures, data modeling and databases (DB2, Oracle)
- Analytical-methodical and structured thinking, creativity, organizational skills, result and solution orientation
- The digital transformation of life insurance business models with the help of big data and data analytics
- Leading the projects and sub-projects
- Answering complex, interdisciplinary questions in the fields of software architecture, data modeling and databases, data analysis, data mining, business intelligence and related areas
- Self-reliance and confidence appearance
- Enjoy conceptual work and solving complex problems
- Upper Intermediate level of German and English language
- Interest in the insurance business, i.e. actuarial and quantitative financial topics
- Willingness to work fifty percent of the time on site in Germany during the initial familiarization phase of 6 months for a maximum of two months (flights home to be provided every other weekend)
- Willingness to subsequently travel to Germany or Slovakia on a regular basis
- Willingness to serve the client on a long-term basis
