MISSION
MdM is implementing projects in Ukraine since September 2015. MdM intervenes to improve access and quality of health care services for vulnerable conflict-affected populations, namely internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities. The project is being implemented around two main components: direct delivery of services through multidisciplinary outreach units (including Primary health care (PHC), sexual reproductive health (SRH) and Mental health psychosocial support (MHPSS); strengthening of local health system (with a specific focus on PHC, SRH, MHPSS and GBV) through capacity building of health and non-health staff, awareness raising and advocacy.
A field team has been in place since June 2015 and is now implementing activities to respond to the new needs faced by the population since February 2022, in order to:
-Restore access to primary healthcare services for displaced and host populations.
-Improve specialized care for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence for displaced and host populations.
-Improving access to mental health and psychosocial support for displaced and host populations.
-Strengthening the capacities of the Local Health Authorities.
-Donations of medicines, medical equipment, NFI items and kits.[FDU1]
GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE OF INTERVENTION:
The incumbent is based in Dnipro with possible travels across Kharkiv and Zaporizhia Oblasts.

JOB SUMMARY
The Translator carries written and verbal translation, could be assigned another task such as reporting
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Written translation
- Translation of documents (English / Ukrainian / Russian): reports, contracts, tests, emails, training contents, forms, and other kind of relevant documents
- On request of field coordinator works on preparation of reports, forms, and other documentation.
- Take notes and provide minutes of discussions and reports summaries from meetings and conferences.
- Assist international and local staff in written communications
Verbal translation
- Verbal translation/interpretation (English / Ukrainian / Russian): during meetings with stakeholders and field visits, supporting visitors (donors, HQ, technical references, trainers) during their visits to the base.
- Work closely with the whole team, translating everything said by either party in the consultation or conversation. These jobs are to be done after validation of Field Coordinator.
- Accompanies MdM staff in providing interpretation during field visits, assessments, meetings, conferences, trainings, and seminars, and prepares reports on those events as required.
- Assists international and local staff in verbal communications. These jobs are to be done after validation of Field Coordinator. Ability to convey and brief about cross-cultural nuances (verbal and non-verbal) is necessary.
Others & Reporting
- Behave with self-restraint, always becoming impartial, treating all interlocutors kindly and with respect.
- Provide a regular follow-up of the translation products to the Field Coordinator
- Participate in coordination meetings, trainings when required
- Participate in field visits on a regular basis
- Maintain full confidentiality for all work-related information
- Support the operational organization of field trips and MdM programs/activities
- Perform other relevant duties as requested by field coordinator

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Academic background:
- University degree in Philology or literature or proven experience in translation / interpretation in private or international sector.
Language requirements:
- Fluent English
- Fluent Ukrainian and Russian
- Knowledge of humanitarian semantics is an advantage.
Computer requirements:
- Competency in Microsoft Office
EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate must have:
- Minimum 2 year of relevant professional experience
- Experience working with NGOs can be an asset (not mandatory).
- Representation experience in working and meeting with authorities, partners, and communities

- Ability to work quickly and with short deadlines.
- Ability to manage emergency situations and remain calm.
- Necessity to manage priorities and to adapt them daily according to the context.
