Senior Ruby Developer

Our client is one of the biggest video advertising companies. They focus on the gaming industry and use their data-driven targeting approach to drive performance for top brands.

The specialist we are looking for will work with product managers and front-end engineers to resolve complex problems and break new features down into smaller manageable chunks. As a Senior Developer, you will help build microservices that are performant, scalable, and flexible enough to accommodate incremental development.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications that meet the challenges of the video advertising ecosystem
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and front-end engineers on conceptualizations and create new features
• Own features or systems and define their long-term health while also improving the health of surrounding systems
• Explore new technologies, influence and improve the client's platform

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of work experience as a software engineer
• Hands-on experience using Ruby as the primary development language in recent years
• A passion for technology and software engineering
• Experience developing, maintaining, and debugging problems in large server-side codebases
• Solid knowledge of RESTful API design
• Experience with AWS and Docker
• Proficiency in SQL and databases (eg PostgreSQL).
• Solid knowledge of engineering best practices and testing (eg unit testing, code
• reviews, design documentation)
• The desire to take a high level of ownership of the things you work on
• Ability to learn new things quickly, maintain a high bar for quality, and be pragmatic
• Spoken English
