About the job 

The ICRC Armed and Security Forces (FAS) Department recruits a Virtual Reality Programmer based in its Kyiv office. In close cooperation with the team members and line managers, the Virtual Reality Programmer will be responsible for supporting the Delegation in creating computer-generated audio-visual tools for internal and external training and education purposes. He/she will be required to work in a multidisciplinary and international internal team as well as external partners and contractors. 

Start date: as soon as possible  

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

• Work with 3D artists/animators to design Unreal Engine 5 projects
• Design complex gameplay mechanisms in Unreal Engine 5
• Work with 3D artists to design realistic maps and levels in Unreal Engine 5
• Integrate plugins into Unreal Engine 5
• Assist in designing 3D assets/characters and their integration into Unreal Engine 5
• Cooperate with programmers, 3D artists, and animators on various humanitarian projects

About you

To be successful as a Virtual Reality Programmer in the Armed and Security Forces (FAS) Department, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:   

• Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
• University degree or equivalent in information technology/programming 
• At least six years' relevant professional experience, including 3 years using C++ and  1 year using Unreal Engine 4
• Knowledge of motion capture as an asset
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
• Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
• Confidence in managing projects and staff
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
