The ICRC has several Rosters and Pools for different professions. To join an ICRC Roster and Pool, we will assess your expertise and professional experience against the below-mentioned criteria and invite you for an online technical test. Once you have passed the test, you will join the specific ICRC Roster and Pool. About the job 

For our ICRC Logistics Department and fleet team, we are looking for Truck Drivers. A Truck Driver will transport goods and people in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with ICRC rules and regulations and Ukrainian traffic law.    

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

• Transport people and/or material in strict adherence to internal security rules and Ukrainian traffic laws 
• Constantly monitor security conditions on the road
• Ensure that goods are stored inside the vehicle according to local, international and ICRC safety standards 
• Accountable for the cargo under supervision, from signing the waybill to delivery
• Supervise of loading and unloading of goods 
• Ensure that goods are secured during transportation in accordance with local, international and ICRC safety standards 
• Check assigned vehicles’ equipment, general functioning and condition and ensure that it is kept fueled and clean 
• Check that trips have been authorized
• Report accidents, defects and/or missing equipment 
• May act as head of convoy 
• Ensure that risks are mitigated by performing the controls assigned

About you

To be successful in this Roster and Pool recruitment, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:   

• Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
• Minimum secondary school diploma
• Driving license B, Cand E and has the ability to drive 10+10-ton truck
• Knowledge (spoken and written) of English is an asset
• Good knowledge of the terrain in the area of assignment
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a truck driver
• Ability to change a tire and carry out other minor repairs on the road 
• Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn 
• Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment.
