The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 19,000 field staff.

In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Odesa.

      AIM OF THE POSITION

In line with ICRC policies and procedures to support ICRC’s health activities under the supervision of the Health Delegate

POSITION REQUIREMENTS      

• Minimum required knowledge & experience:
• Nursing certificate or graduate as medical doctor
• At least 2 years work experience in a similar field of activity
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English
• Good computer knowledge
• Capacity to adhere to and to implement procedures
• Good communication skills
• Rigor, method and analytical skills

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collects, compiles and analyses requests from hospitals / Primary Healthcare facilities or other structures, provides recommendations to the Health Delegate.
• Collects, compiles and reports weekly and monthly statistics
• Participates in the distributions of medical material to hospitals and PHC facilities
• Executes simple office work (filing, photocopying typing of routine reports etc.)
• Develops and maintains contact with authorities on municipal, regional and national level of health structures, social workers, RC branches
• Translates institutional documentation from English to Russian/Ukrainian and vice versa
