The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 19,000-field staff.

In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Lugansk and Odesa.

AIM OF THE POSITION

Responsible to support the Protection Unit in all aspects of the ICRC programs related to the Missing/Restoring Family Links (RFL) files and Protection of the Civilian Population under the direct supervision of the Protection delegate.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the implementation and monitoring of departments' projects under close supervision.
• Responsible for administrative and logistical procedures related to the assistance activities (supply requests, distribution plans, field trip requests and other similar tasks)
• Collects and compiles information according to a given procedure.
• Drafts simple and standard reports/statistics.
• Works in line with ICRC principles, modalities and code of conduct
• Maintains contacts with enquirers and external interlocutors/ local authorities
• Follow ups and makes written reporting on the activities
• Interprets and translates documents from English to Russian and vice versa as required
• Uses ICRC working tools

The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

Education and professional qualifications

• University degree or relevant professional experience
• 3-5 years' previous professional experiences, for instance in the field of social/political/economic science or similar.
• Excellent command of Russian and English
• Computer literacy
