In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 500 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Odesa.

Field Data and Analysis Specialist (Based in Kyiv)

 

 

AIM OF THE POSITION

The role of the EcoSec Field Data and Analysis Specialist Field Officer is to serve as the focal point for data and information management for all Departments within the Delegation, coordinating as a service to all related activities. S/he is responsible for oversight, quality assurance and maintenance of analytical databases at the local level, as well as performing analysis as defined by the EcoSec Coordinator.

 

S/he is expected to use a client-oriented approach, be available for coaching various staff in data and information management and work closely with all relevant departments.

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support to programme staff in data collection and management exercises as part of assessments, monitoring and evaluation;

 

  • Data cleaning and analysis for reporting.
  • Perform regular situation analysis and share relevant key patterns and trends;
  • Produce regular statistical summaries of requested activities;
  • Provide support in data analysis.
  • Programme staff coaching in data analysis
  • Support coordinated assessment exercises (and/or preparedness) from an information management/data analysis perspective, as required.
  • Provide support in developing an agreed, context-specific data collection and analysis methodology for coordinated assessments.
  • Ensure user-friendly data availability for relevant planning and future planned assessments.
  • Work with information managers within the Delegation.
  • Serve as focal point for compiling inputs and drafting institutional reports including Statistical Reports and the Quarterly EcoSec Report;
  • Work independently and carry out data cleaning and analysis of community, household, etc
  • Provide technical support to the different departments in data analysis and ensure appropriate result outputs are generated in the required formats

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education and Professional qualifications

  • University degree in a social science, economics, international affairs, or in a technical domain related to Data set management (e.g. content management, statistics, data science, GIS)
  • At least 2 years of practical field and hands-on experience in working with a database - data entry and queries.
  • Solid understanding of assessment, monitoring and evaluation concepts and methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and manipulate data and information from different sources (including primary and secondary) and in different formats and scales
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality reports adapted to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • In-depth understanding of data and content management
  • Experience in mobile, GPS data collection
  • Good skills in SPSS, Word, Excel.
  • Experience in Tableau of advantage.
