The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 13,000 field staff.

In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 500 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Odesa.

PSYCHOLOGIST

Mariupol based

AIM OF THE POSITION

• Implement Mental health and Psychological Support activities as defined in collaboration with the relevant coordinator at local and national level.
• The psychologist will be based in Mariupol, with frequent travels

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide psychological and psychosocial support to victims of armed conflict (individuals and/or families) through home visits or group sessions
• Assess, plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and report MHPSS programs
• Refer families to other services (government institutions, URCS, other NGOs, etc.) when their needs cannot be met using the resources of the accompaniment network
• Provide useful information on relevant topics (common MHPSS issues, services available, etc.) to family members and specific groups as authorities, NGOs, URCS, etc.
• Facilitate sensitization and training sessions

The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and professional qualifications

• University degree in psychology.
• 3-5 of overall professional experience with minimum 3 years work experience in a similar field of activity.
• Fluent knowledge of spoken and written English
• Computer proficiency
• Humanitarian experience is an asset
