    The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 13,000 field staff.

     

     

    In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 300 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Odesa.

    HR Assistant (100%)

     

    Sloviansk based

     

     

    The HR Assistant, as a part of the Administration department, is the focal point for all HR related matters in Sloviansk Sub-delegation, ensuring a smooth HR workflow of the organization and assuring compliance to local requirements to personnel administration and ICRC policies and procedures. The HR Assistant works in close collaboration with the HR Team in Kiev and Finance and Administration Manager (line manager) in Sloviansk.

     

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

     

     

    • Recruitment: Ensuring the recruitment process policy is respected and job descriptions are updated, initiating recruitment campaign, managing applications and selection process, contributes in drafting written tests and organizes them, leading role in interviews, keeping candidates informed of the result of the process, finalizing the recruitment (final job offer), collecting personnel records, conducting on-boarding HR induction for new staff in coordination with manager, and following-up on trial periods.
    • Training and Development: Scheduling participants into training sessions, tracking training records and assisting actively in internal training sessions for new employees.
    • Employees' relation and counselling: Acting as point of contact for the employees to build a trustful relationship, providing information and supporting employees and managers in cases such as promotions, career counselling, conflicts, warnings, etc.
    • Performance Management: Focal point for the HR Performance Management system, responsible for follow-ups with Line Managers and employees
    • HR Administration: Creating and maintaining employee's file up-to-date in, HR System administrator for the site, preparing all HR related documents such as employment contracts, following-up and documenting appraisals, promotions, disciplinary processes and holiday balances, ensuring follow-up of medical expenses.
    • Other: Active contribution to HR projects, coordinating closely with the HR department in Kiev and assisting direct Finance and Administration Manager in administering programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organization.

     

     

    The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

     

     

    POSITION REQUIREMENT

     

    Education and professional qualifications

     

    • Secondary school level or technical college
    • 2 -3 years work experience in HR or a similar field of activity
    • Good knowledge of spoken and written English
    • Good computer knowledge
    • Capacity to adhere to and to implement procedures
    • Good communication skills
    • Rigor, method and analytical skills

     

    PERSONAL COMPETENCIES

    • Genuine interest to work in humanitarian aid field;
    • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and take initiative;
    • Ability to work under minor supervision;
    • Very good communication skills;
    • Assertiveness and enthusiasm;
