Middle DB Administrator

• Managing, and tuning high-availability 24?7 PostgreSQL databases;
• Meetigate policies and procedures pertaining to data management, security, maintenance and utilization;
• Managing, and test database backup & recovery strategies, verifying data integrity;
• Performing database installations, configurations, upgrades, and migrations;
• Proactively monitoring and tune for performance;
• Consulting with development and architecture teams to help meet continued application growth;
• Creating and maintain documentation and guides for troubleshooting database systems.

Essential professional experience:

• 2 years of administering and designing PostgreSQL databases;
• Understanding of relational and dimensional database theory and concepts;
• Practical hands-on experience with database administration,backup and recovery, performance tuning and high-availability solutions;
• Understanding of Postgres database server architecture, extensions,concepts, features, and high-availability technologies;
• Experience with database replication, hot stand-by, logical, trade-offs and table partitioning;
• Linux platform familiarity, system resource monitoring and tuning.
