British International School is looking for full time Сhemistry Laboratory Technician

Qualifications 

• Good general education up to at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English 

• Laboratory/Scientific qualification 

Experience 

• Working in a scientific environment – academic or industrial

Knowledge and understanding 

• Health & Safety procedures in laboratories 

• Mixing of chemicals to stock concentrations  

• Naming standards of IUPAC 

Skills 

• Maintenance of stock chemicals

• Excellent Excel and Word 

• School experience 

• First Aid – willingness to be trained as a First Aider 

Personal characteristics 

• Organising and prioritising work 

• Attention to detail 

• Able to follow school policies 

• Working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines 

• Good oral and written communication  

• Confident and self-motivated  

• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills 

• Maintain a positive and flexible attitude 

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team 

Main responsibilities

• Mix chemicals to known concentrations
• Put chemicals and equipment together for experiments in class and practical lessons
• Put equipment and chemicals away after experiments in class and practical lessons
• Maintain inventory of equipment and chemicals
• Support teachers in delivery of experiments and practical lessons
• Facilitate transfer of some equipment between Nivki and Pechersk campuses
