Ro3kvit Urban Coalition is looking for Chief Operating Officer (COO) 

About us: 

Ro3kvit is a coalition of over 100 professionals from Ukraine and beyond who unite to create knowledge and methodologies for rebuilding Ukraine’s urban and rural areas and infrastructure. Through design and research, Ro3kvit urban coalition address urgent needs and connect them to future strategies.

Fuelled by studies on other (postwar) countries, Ro3kvit develops future-oriented urban design methods, co-creative organisation and sustainable development.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) will lead all internal operations of the Ro3kvit Urban Coalition.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with the CEO to formulate and execute the strategic plan, implement new processes, policies and procedures;
  • Plan and report to CEO and COO to the board;
  • Serve as the internal leader of the organization;
  • Coordinate the annual operations plan and budget;
  • See to strategic planning and to the recruitment of all internal staff;
  • Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization;
  • Provide for all staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence; bridge national and regional operations and support an open-door policy among all staff;
  • Communicate the Ro3kvit message internally;
  • Cultivate the values of Ro3kvit within the organization;
  • Install a human capital development and “coaching” culture within Ro3kvit;
  • Install and see to human resources functions including: training, development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance evaluation and recruiting;
  • Organize HR procedures and oversee the maintenance of HR records in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine;
  • Supervise and oversee a finance system that provides the organization with quick access to financial information and enables strategic budgeting;
  • See to a fitting and future proof IT landscape;
  • Develop and implement of systems for reporting, measurement;
  • Manage the organization?s institutional budget and project financial performance.

Requirements:

  • Result oriented—enjoys working hard and looks for challenges; able to act and react as necessary, even in crises or if limited information is available; not afraid to take charge of a situation;
  • General Management—thorough understanding of finance, systems, and HR in Ukraine;
  • Experienced with the full range of NGO—functions and systems, including strategic development and planning, budgeting, business analysis, finance, information systems, human resources, knowledge of labor laws and regulations on HR accounting and record keeping;
  • Solid educational background—undergraduate degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree desired;
  • Capacity building—ability to effectively build organization and staff capacity, developing the team and the processes that ensure the organization runs smoothly;
  • Leadership and Organisation—well developed capacity for managing and leading people; a team builder;
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting;
  • Native Ukrainian speaker, fluent in English;
  • Located in Kyiv, Ukraine.
