Senior Strategy Consultant [Ukrainian-based]

ThinkingLinking has expanded its activities to Ukraine to facilitate foreign investment into the country through M&A transactions. We already operate cross-border in many markets but are now establishing a direct presence in Ukraine.

We are looking for a senior strategy consultant who will be based in Kyiv or Lviv but will work remotely everyday with our small, fast-paced and disciplined strategic consulting team in the City of London.

Our company will train any successful candidates from non-strictly financial backgrounds such as economics, science and engineering to work in our advisory firm. We stress that a financial background is not required for the position. We welcome applicants with precise minds since we use logic and strategic analysis as the backbone of our M&A techniques.

Is wartime M&A possible?

Many people will wonder if M&A can really be done during a war.   The answer is it is not impossible.   Our overall pitch to investors will be: “Now is actually the optimal time to support Ukraine and secure a market position.”

Mitigating advantages

• Ukraine needs investment, is offering tax advantages and anyway needs to be welcoming at this time to counter-balance the downsides.
•  Investing today offers companies an early mover advantage in a future significant population market with plans to join the EU.
• Some Western companies may see supporting Ukraine and democracy as a ‘moral bonus’ on top of the market entry opportunity.
• We can tell investors that, if they wait to invest in Ukraine until after the war, it will be opportunistic not courageous.  Investing now is a case of moral leadership:  “Be a moral leader rather than a moral follower, a moral pioneer.”

About ThinkingLinking

ThinkingLinking is a boutique strategy-focused M&A consulting firm with a ‘Strategy before Finance’ methodology. Although financial negotiations are inevitable in the process, the emphasis of our work and the basis for introducing companies is synergy and also psychology. We add these to the traditional finance dimension of M&A, in effect blending two industries: strategic consulting and M&A. Unlike other small firms that specialise in one sector, ThinkingLinking works across several, using proprietary methodologies to identify opportunities and guide the dealmaking process.
