 For this position, MDM FR would like to remind that a good English language command is mandatory : Therefore, applications in English shall be considered in priority.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 To directly implement activities around prevention, management and/or research into mental 

health and psychosocial support.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Hierarchical link: MHPSS Advisor

  • Other:  Health Coordinator, SRHR Advisor

 ROLES:

  1. Qualitative psychosocial care
  • Reception and/or identification people experiencing mental health difficulties
  • Collection and analyse needs and requests for interventions
  • Definition appropriate MHPSS activities
  • Leading discussion groups and psychosocial activities 
  • Carry out and update the mapping of the actors involved in the response to SRHR and develop a strong network in coordination with the local MdM team
  • Lead the definition and adaptation of the strategy for MdM’s prevention and response to SRHR in Ukraine and in line with the context and MdM’s overall strategy on SRHR and GBV
  • Ensure the quality of GBV activities through regular monitoring and technical support to program teams and partners
  • Create and disseminate tools, guidelines and training and awareness-raising materials
  • Monitor and provide technical advice and recommendations in case of difficulty and/or to improve the quality of SRHR services and prevention interventions, in line with international and national guidelines and MdM's strategy
  • Ensure the development, implementation or updating of tools for the management of SRHR/GBV activities: Standard Operating Procedures, tools for data collection, management and analysis, 
  • Provision of information on the options around psychological interventions and related approaches
  • Preparation of the psychological report (collate information, interview, interpret, analyse and submit)
  • Planning support and carrying out follow-up activities and implementation of adjustments
  • Identification support and referral structures
  • Possibly training of professionals or team representatives
  • Entering data and/or supervision entering data and updating monitoring tools
  • Preparation presentation and prevention tools and notes
  •  Archiving reports
  • Writing activity reports

The list of tasks is not intended to be exhaustive and other tasks may be requested by the line supervisor. In addition, a certain degree of flexibility and adaptability is expected from the collaborator according to the potential evolution of the mission's constraints

 CONDITIONS OF THE JOB

 Position based in Odessa, with regular travels on the field.

 CONTEXT

 Three MdM chapters are directly implementing activities in Ukraine:

  • MdM Spain has the lead for global MdM repsonse in the country and covers Kiev and surroundings, Donbass, Kharkiv, Zaporidja
  • MdM Germany covers Dnipro and Vinitsia
  • MdM France covers the Southern part, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson

In Mykolaiv oblast, MdM-F supports Mykolaiv Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) in restoring access to primary health care and Mental Health and Psychosocial Services (MHPSS) for populations affected by the conflict. The component of sexual and reproductive health, as well as Gender Based Violence is part of this project.

 SKILLS REQUIRED

Training & Experience

  • Medical doctor with SRH experience, midwife, gynaecologist-obstetrician
  • Training and proofed knowledge of GBV and Clinical Management of Rape
  • Demonstrated professional experience of 2 to 5 years in the humanitarian field, including at least 1 INGO
  • Experience in technical support to partners, advocacy, and network facilitation 

 Technical Skills 

  • Excellent knowledge of international standards and guidelines on SHRH and prevention and response to GBV in humanitarian contexts 
  • Ability to plan for prevention and response to GBV
  • Analyse the context, trends, and risk/protection factors
  • Map services and coordinate with stakeholders
  • Understand activity follow-up indicators 
  • Identify training needs, create and lead SRHR/GBV training modules
  • Develop a safe and confidential referral circuit
  • Analyse and manage sensitive data
  • Adapt planning to unforeseen events
  • Understand activity follow-up indicators
  • Use project management tools
  • Strong ability to lead a team of direct and indirect co-workers, including partners, and to mobilize skills in a multicultural environment 

IT

  • Excellent knowledge of Windows environment (word, excel)

Languages     

  • English is mandatory (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of any other local language is an asset (Russian, Ukranian)
