Medici per i Diritti Umani – MEDU (Doctors for Human Rights – Italy) is a democratic, non-profit organization that operates independently of political, trade union, religious, and ethnic affiliations.

Role: DRIVER

Place of work: Chernivtsi and Chernivtsi oblast

Conditions: 6-month full-time continuous and coordinated collaboration agreement with possibility of an extension up to 15 months

Salary: €1000 per month

Starting date: March/April 2024

 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

In cooperation with and under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and the Field Activity Coordinator, the driver:

• Drives a mobile clinic or a purchased car with the medical and administrative staff of the project in Chernivtsi Oblasts by the request of the Project Coordinator and other project staff.
• Provides technical support for the project's vehicles.
• Contributes to the collection of data and testimonies, supporting the medical team.
• Assists the medical staff in managing people awaiting medical or psychological assistance.
• Participates in team meetings at least twice a month.

 REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• The fundamental requirement is freedom of movement throughout the region of Chernivtsi without the risk of being conscripted or detained at checkpoints.
• Valid driver's license (type B) with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of two years of driving experience.
• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
• Adherence to humanitarian principles.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (at least B1 level).
• Familiarity with the Chernivtsi Oblast area. 

 OTHER DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience driving medical or humanitarian vehicles. 
• Knowledge of basic first aid procedures. 
• Experience working in a multicultural environment. 
• Experience in dealing with public institutions at checkpoints and experience in security issues
