Who are we?

DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish humanitarian, non-government and non-profit organisation working in Ukraine since 2022, with headquarters in Copenhagen. DCA has its main office Kyiv and a coordination hub in Lviv and field office in Mykolaiv. DCA implements various humanitarian interventions, primarily through partners, including cash assistance, WASH, Protection as well as Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA). The Ukraine programme currently employs around 60 national and international staff, with a fast-growing team and programme.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The post is responsible for the interpretation, translation and administration for the standards and training team and office, to provide interpretation, translation in delivery of technical training.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Support verbal communications between International and National staff through interpretation of English/Ukrainian language as required. 
  • Develop in Ukrainian /English language a glossary of all relevant technical terms and definitions.
  • Conduct translation of trainings.
  • Maintain and update all training data.
  • Work within the framework of DCA core values
  •  Maintain a professional behaviour in all duties and responsibilities in line with DCA’s core values. 
  • Participate in meetings where relevant. 

ABOUT YOU:

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Excellent/very good written and spoken English.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work plans and objectives with minimal supervision.
  • An attitude and ability to travel/stay in the field when necessary. 
  • Ability to communicate and interpret effectively, sensitive and difficult managerial issues directly from internationals to national staff.   
  • An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work.
  • Computer literacy with MS Office, particularly, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. (Formal qualification is not necessary but must demonstrate proficiency).
  • Well-developed organizational skills.
