Senior Manual QA Engineer

Position

The company has an immediate, full-time opening on our QA team. You will be working with a small team of developers focused on building our marketing pages which introduce potential customers to our industry-leading products.

The client, named one of the Best Places to Work, is an exciting cloud messaging company with offices in Santa Monica, CA, Pasadena, CA, Austin, TX and Kyiv, Ukraine. We are looking for individuals ready to work with a fun and dedicated team to change the face of communication.  We are now seeking a Manual QA Tester for our Kyiv team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading the testing effort of an Agile team focused on user-facing features;
• Collaborate with developers, and Product Owners to establish the complexity, and time estimates of sprint tasks;
• Build and execute comprehensive test plans from functional requirements;
• Create new test cases, and collaborate with our QA Automation Engineers to automate them;
• Execute automated regression suite, and assist in analyzing results;
• Manual testing of front-end, and REST APIs;
• Write accurate, concise bug reports;
• Proactively communicate risks;
• Participate in code deployments;
• Work with an international Engineering team;
• Contribute to the overall strategy and evolution of QA.

Requirements

• 5+ years of manual testing large-scale web applications;
• Thorough knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices;
• Hands-on experience with front-end testing (CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc.);
• Hands-on experience testing REST APIs with tools such as Postman or PAW;
• Strong familiarity with relational databases, such as Postgres or MySQL;
• Familiarity with JIRA or similar bug tracking tools.

Will be a plus

• Experience executing and/or developing automation with Selenium or similar automated tests;
• Experience with Zephyr;
• Some programming knowledge; especially Java;
• Experience with load/performance testing;
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum processes;
• Experience collaborating remotely with distributed teams.
