ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE  

Are you the kind of person who takes pride in being able to repair any electrical device? 

As an Electrical Technician at Zipline, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the ground support equipment that keeps our fleet of life-saving delivery drones operating 24 hours a day. This includes power distribution equipment, back-up power systems, networking equipment, and Zipline’s proprietary systems that launch and recover our drones. To be successful in this role, you will need to develop a deep technical understanding of these systems by reviewing the technical schematics and documentation and doing hands-on work on the hardware. When a system fails, you will be responsible for quickly identifying the root cause, working closely with Zipline’s engineering team, and carrying out the repair to the highest level of workmanship quality and safety. Additionally, as the technical expert onsite, you will be responsible for supervising the work of all other electrical contractors, to ensure it meets Zipline’s requirements and quality standards.  

This role will be based close to Vorzel & Nemeshaevo in Kyiv region.

WHAT YOU'LL DO  

• Maintain Zipline’s proprietary hardware systems to ensure they are kept in working order and updated as needed

• Personally ensure Distribution Center’s site electrical systems are inspected and maintained on a regular basis, including performing any upgrades needed for expansion

• Ensure all Electrical installations for new Distribution Centers match the standard Distribution Center electrical drawings, and meet Zipline’s standards for quality, with minimal supervision from other Zipline teams

• Verify that work performed by external electrical contractors at Zipline sites meets Zipline’s standards for quality, safety, and completeness

• Stay up-to-date with the latest new designs coming from the engineering team

WHAT YOU'LL BRING  

• Bachelors or technical degree with minimum 5 years of Field Electrician experience. 

• Experience with electrical installations for commercial/industrial buildings, and knowledge of power systems architecture 

• Ability to read and draft electrical schematics

• Experience in drawing electrical circuits for power systems and buildings

• Knowledge of best practices for safety in regards to electrical (Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash…) 

• Experience with using electrical installation and diagnostics tools, with excellent attention to quality and safety

• Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial automation components, such as PLCs, motors, and variable frequency drives

• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical challenges and solutions to fellow engineers and non-engineers alike

• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Nice to Have

• Computer networking experience

• Experience conducting technical training 

• Experience writing technical documentation, such as installation procedures, user manuals, or troubleshooting guides
