PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our client operates the largest truckload freight marketplace in North America. Transportation brokers, motor carriers, news organizations and industry analysts rely on its market trends and data insights. Founded in 1978, it is a diversified technology company and constituent of the S&P 500, Fortune 1000, and Russell 1000 indices.

 

Currently, we are searching for a Systems Architect to join our Engineering team. The project team is responsible for delivering customer solutions on multiple platforms that are responsive, scalable, and of the highest quality. We use the Agile development process, and value employees who foster collaboration between team members.

 

On this role, you will be expected to have a strong background in designing and maintaining scalable enterprise systems deployed to AWS.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor existing processes, infrastructure and services, analyze their effectiveness and create strategies to improve productivity and efficiency:
  • Carry out associated responsibilities for all services delivered by EPAM
  • Improve monitoring and telemetry (New Relic, Logz.io, Grafana, AWS)
  • Manage quality assurance programs:
  • Establish functional tests in production (e.g. New Relic Synthetics)
  • Design customer service policies, SLAs and OLAs related to the company's products and services
  • Manage Product Quality reports
  • Drive automated performance testing and reporting (Cucumber, TestCafe, WebDriver, ReportPortal)
  • Manage all technical and operational aspects in day-to-day delivery of products with full development lifecycle:
  • Drive improvements of operations and CI/CD (Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Flux)
  • Drive improvements of development, utilizing Atlassian stack (including Service Desk and Bitbucket), Stoplight, Mixpanel, Ambassador, Node.js, Koa, Angular
  • Manage AWS services, including EKS, MSK, Kinesis, Lambda, Elasticsearch, Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Snowflake Data Warehouse
  • Supervise and develop training programs for other team members

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years' experience in hands-on development of solutions of different nature (web applications, web services, desktop applications, native mobile applications) in AWS Cloud
  • 5+ years' experience in team leadership
  • 3+ years' experience in project management and direct customer communication
  • Strong system administration background
  • Profound experience in AWS infrastructure and deep familiarity with its feature set
  • Deep expertise in configuration management systems (preferably Ansible)
  • Proficiency in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery design
  • Strong experience with Docker containerization
  • In-depth practical knowledge of Kubernetes
  • Experience in Terraform
  • Experience in AWS server-less stack
  • Familiarity with logs and monitoring systems
  • Leadership and communications skills:
  • Proactive approach and leadership in architecture engagement
  • Experience in customer site assignments
  • Excellent general communication skills
  • Ability to communicate information to customer representatives, listen and manage their concerns
  • Ability to read context and people
  • Fluent English level
