IT Technical Lead

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Our customer is a manufacturing solutions provider that delivers comprehensive design, manufacturing, supply chain and product management services for a wide array of industries including automotive, transportation, consumer lifestyle and wearable tech, defense and aerospace, connected home and building, industrial and energy, enterprise and infrastructure, retail, healthcare devices, mobility, packaging and printing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with functional managers to establish and maintain technical standards and guidelines for their area
• Working with functional manager to review and evaluate new technologies that may be beneficial to current and upcoming project work
• Participation in the technical design review process to ensure high-quality technical designs
• Planning and overseeing the development and support of specific IT areas and systems
• Planning and directing activities related to introducing new services, products, and processes
• Coordination of technical tasks and work effort
• Acting as an escalation for technical issues and support
• Leading technical teams
• Identification and communication of the business' risks
• Contribution in defining new business requirements
• Performance as a mentor on process and techniques to assure proficiency within the team
• Performance research and analysis of new technology and business practices with the team
• Aligning solutions within the overall IT strategy
• Assuring best practices
• Driving consistency across applications and projects wherever possible
• Implementation of project management methodologies to ensure project success
• Preparation and utilization of project plans for significant IT development, enhancement and maintenance efforts
• Development of activities to increase systems and application availability
• Acting as a liaison for the technical team to the project management team and IT management
• Communicating regularly with internal and external customers
• Complying and following all procedures within the company security policy

REQUIREMENTS

• 6+ years of experience in information technology or a relevant Jabil IT position
• Ability to work on a technical lead role to coordinate a team of resources to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects
• Proven proficiency across multiple disciplines and or technologies
• Fluency in business processes and best practices
• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Experience in technical leadership
• Project management training passed
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to include excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work with the customer, management and technical teams in a "self-starter" role
• Strong attention to details
• Upper-intermediate or higher English level, both spoken and written (B2+)
