Communication Advisor (full time, Kyiv)

Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional for the project “Utilization and implementation of the Association agreement between the EU and Ukraine in the field of trade/ EU4Business: SME Competitiveness and Internationalization” (hereafter “Project”) in Kyiv to fill the position of the 

Communication Advisor (full time, Kyiv)

Area of responsibilities 

• Develop and improve suitable communication instruments for external communication to promote the Project`s activities
• Implement and follow up daily operational aspects of all issues related to PR, as well as the external and internal communication of the overall Project
• Ensure the respect of visibility & communication guidelines of the contracting authorities and liaising with the respective contacts
• Establish and maintain contacts to press and PR departments in partner institutions
• Coordinate cooperation with external communication service providers (e.g. appraisers, agencies, photographers, trainers, copywriters)
• Compile information materials for media professionals (i.e. journalists, television reporters, channels, radio stations) attending Project events
• Support the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture and other partner organizations in their communication activities to promote SME support in Ukraine
• Assist in other tasks as needed

• Requirements to candidates
•  
• MA or post-graduate degree in Journalism, Communication or in a related field (Creative Writing, Marketing, Social Sciences etc.)
• At least 3 years professional experience in a comparable position
• Proven experience in managing communication and outreach activities of an organization in a similar international context
• Experience in liaising with stakeholders such as government officials, private actors, civil society and the press
• Experience in working with social media on behalf of an organization
• Native written and spoken Ukrainian and Russian; excellent command of the English language; knowledge of German is an asset
• Knowledge of Ukrainian economic policies on the local level, in particular in the field of SME promotion and local economic development is an advantage
• Very good working knowledge of IT technologies and computer applications
• Experienced to work in an international team.
• Good self-organisation skills and customer and service-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Employment conditions 

Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Place of assignment is Kyiv. Some travel within Ukraine is possible. Contract duration is until May 2024.
