Technical Advisor

Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Kyiv is seeking for their growing Energy Efficiency Portfolio (EE) a qualified professional to fill the position of the:

"Technical Advisor (full time 100%)"

To support the project Energy Efficiency Reform Project in Ukraine in the field of technical advice and project implementation, we are looking for a highly motivated Technical Advisor.

The project aim is to support Ukrainian governmental institution (Parliament, CMU, Minregion, Minenergy & Ecology, Minedu, SAEE etc.) to prepare necessary reforms for reducing energy consumption by advising them in EU Energy Efficiency Directives implementation.

Responsibilities:

• providing conceptual and organizational support to the project management
• providing professional technical advice and coordination of project activities/components with high level government partners and key stakeholders (including consultants)
• preparation of assignments for contractors
• support the preparation of workshops, training modules, study tours and networking events
• integrating Project results and best practices using GIZ digital tools
• preparation of Project registration package, reporting of project results/monitoring
• ensure the maintenance and update of the Project/GIZ filing system
• preparation and review of publications and Project materials

Requirements:

• university degree with a focus on a relevant field (economy; international relations; law, EE)
• 5-7 years' professional experience, with at least 3 years' professional experience in a comparable position and experience in international development projects or public administration sector (with a specific focus on energy efficiency)
• working experience in policy design, cooperation with authorities (on all levels) are a plus
• team and result oriented, flexible (incl. business trips), good skills in management, communication and organisation
• excellent English and/or German and Ukrainian/Russian language skills, including the ability to produce reports

Employment conditions:

• Full-time position with 40-hours working week until approximately June 2020.
