Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Kyiv is seeking for their growing Energy Efficiency Portfolio (EE) a qualified professional to fill the position of the:

 

Junior Contract & Procurement Professional (full time 100%)

 

To support projects in the EE Portfolio in the field of contracts and procurement, we are looking for a highly motivated Junior Contract & Procurement Professional with a hands-on attitude and excellent knowledge of procurement practices and contracts

 

Area of responsibilities

 

  • in accordance with GIZ regulations and possibly in consultation with Country Office and Head Office, assists with local procurement of consulting services, materials and equipment, invitations to tender and order processing
  • assists with checking invoices for goods, vouchers, payment instructions and complaints
  • assists with the safe transport of goods to destination
  • assists with processing claims for damage to goods
  • documents and files completed order transactions in reference files or in DMS in line with GIZ's filing rules
  • assists all projects and relevant team members on proper and timely preparation of relevant information and data
  • assists in and follows-up to ensure timely accomplishment of contracts & procurement in a purely result oriented manner
  • assists the officer in processing customs declaration procedures (duty-free import of goods, entering information in customs declaration database, producing statistics)
  • assists with checking ship consignments
  • assists with monitoring clearing of goods
  • assists with organising and coordinating collection of goods
  • participates in tenders, in concluding service agreements, and in the purchase of materials and equipment, advises the officer responsible for the contract and cooperation, and participates in entering into and processing financial agreements
  • organises distribution of office funds and other office supplies

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Ideally, BA/MSc in business management with a focus on finance, controlling, purchasing or contract management or similar area;
  • 2 years of working experience, ideally in an international setting;
  • proven experience in the field of procurement and contracts;
  • work experience in the private sector and/or international organisations;
  • outstanding working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, SAP, CoSoft and/or other relevant procurement/contracts software);
  • intercultural communication and management skills;
  • very good command of Ukrainian / Russian and English (orally and in writing), knowledge of German is an asset.

Position: a full-time position, 40 hours per week.

 

Contract duration: till December 2020 with the possibility of extension.
