About Us:

The Resilience and Early Recovery Unit (RERU) of REACH Initiative is a dynamic team dedicated to evaluating the resilience of Ukrainian communities amid the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict. Our comprehensive assessments delve into communities' capacity to withstand, adapt to, and recover from the impacts of the war. By fostering self-reliance and informing long-term development strategies, RERU empowers conflict-affected communities.

Unit Overview:

RERU's primary objective is to provide relevant, current data and insights to facilitate collaborative efforts between humanitarian agencies, development actors, and the government. This facilitates a smooth transition towards early recovery initiatives. The Governance and Services Team within RERU focuses on research concerning access to essential services among diverse population groups.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to research design, crafting data collection tools, and assessment preparation and planning.
  • Manage and coordinate the research cycle, ensuring effective data collection activities.
  • Conduct data analysis, including quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Produce high-quality outputs such as briefings and reports.
  • Follow up on assessments, including presenting results to stakeholders and conducting lessons learned sessions.

Key Duties within Governance and Services Team:

  • Undertake research on access to essential services (healthcare, education, social services) among diverse population groups.
  • Assess the extent to which the Ukrainian population can meet their fundamental needs, considering different regions and demographics.
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Ukrainian authorities, UN agencies, international organizations, foreign government offices, local, and international NGOs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, international development, or related).
  • Proven experience in assessment preparation, data collection, analysis, and report writing.
  • Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present results to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a humanitarian or development context is an asset.

Reporting Structure:

The Assessment Officer will work under the guidance of the Research Manager and Senior Assessment Officer, contributing to the research processes conducted by the Governance and Services Team.

Terms and Conditions:

  • This full-time position is initially for 6 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance.
  • Salary defined by the ACTED salary grid; educational level, expertise, hardship, security, and performance.

  • Medical insurance after 3 months of work.
