Project HOPE is an international NGO of more than 500 engaged employees and hundreds of volunteers who work in more than 25 countries, responding to the world’s most pressing global health challenges. Throughout our 60-year legacy, Project HOPE has treated millions of patients and provided more than $3 billion worth of medicines to local health care organizations around the world. We have helped build hundreds of health programs from the ground up and responded to humanitarian crises worldwide.

Project HOPE’s is seeking volunteers, staff and available specialists who would like to join our Emergency Response Roster. Once candidates have completed the pre-deployment requirements they would be on standby to deploy to a crisis within 72 hours, whether they are launching into new disaster areas or lending support to Project HOPE’s teams already on the ground.

Program Summary:

Project HOPE is mobilizing to provide health and humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons in Ukraine as well as refugees in neighboring countries fleeing the ongoing conflict. Project HOPE is in contact with the WHO led Health Cluster in Ukraine, which has noted critical needs in primary health care.

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Human Resource Officer is to provide HR and administrative support to the HR Coordinator. S/he ensures that necessary human resources and support systems are in place in country including liaison with local labor lawyers on HR matters, works closely with team on staffing plans. S/he coordinates recruitment process, onboarding, off boarding, health & safety, safeguarding and general HR support in the field. S/he will provide strategic support to the ongoing growth of the response effort for Project HOPE.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the recruitment process, including job posting,candidate screening, and interview scheduling.
  • Conduct initial candidate interviews and collaborate with departmentmanagers for final selections.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smoothintegration into the organization.
  • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.
  • Serve as point of contact with benefits.
  • Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.
  • Assist with performance management procedures.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
  • Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
  • Process payroll and resolve any payroll errors.
  • Complete termination paperwork.
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

Language Skills: Ukrainian/Russian (fluent), English (minimum — intermediate)
