Manager - Corporate Tax Management

    Principal Accountabilities:

    1. Support the business strategy of the Group by undertaking efficient management of tax affairs in line with the Group's commercial activity;
    2. Act as a proactive business partner to identify opportunities for enhancing tax effectiveness and commercial results. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement with regard to tax management processes and systems;
    3. Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations in Ukraine;
    4. Ensure compliance with Group corporate tax governance (e.g. Process maps, tax guidelines, Transfer Pricing strategy, tax committees, exceptions committees) and SOX requirements;
    5. Accurate and timely delivery of corporate tax compliance to comply with all applicable local requirements & deadlines. Perform role of local compliance process owner for corporate tax. Manage preparation of Corporate Tax return, Transfer pricing report;
    6. Ensure the WHT position is clear and supportable in terms of beneficial ownership and treaty protection (i.e. PPT) and implement recommendations to underpin the position. Ensure that the appropriate amount of withholding tax is withheld on all cross-border payments and notify Regional tax team to any changes in rate;
    7. Updating Regional tax team on impact of proposed tax legislation changes and local implementation of the OECD's BEPS agenda on a timely basis to enable risk assessment to be carried out;
    8. Review of contracts as per company review policy. Take active participation in appropriate documentation of required primary documents, reports for intercompany contracts;
    9. Manage tax audits, tax requests, ensuring timely resolution of disputes and escalation of risks and issues to the Regional tax team;
    10. Assessment, support with implementation and delivery of local business initiatives. Provide daily support to business on identification and mitigation of tax risks in day-to-day activity;
    11. Provide support to the Ukraine Leadership team to deliver the local business plan and results;
    12. Involve and obtain high-value tax-related services at competitive fees from external Consultants, if required for the business. Manage tax team budget for consultancy spend;


    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    • Degree educated with relevant professional accountancy/legal and tax qualification
    • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in BIG4, global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment and a good understanding of the tobacco business
    • Advanced English language level
    • Strong knowledge in accounting standards (IFRS)
    • Strong knowledge on transfer pricing and principles of international taxation
    • ACCA, CIMA qualified is an advantage.
    • Technical skills: excel, MS Office, SAP, M.e.Doc
    • Act Commercially and is Consumer Centric, i.e. demonstrates the deep understanding of business needs and requests of employees, support them with a clear tax advice according to Tax Strategy;
    • Drive and owns results, i.e. delivers exceptional results through strong and thorough cooperation within the finance team
    • Develop leaders and teams, including constant development of capabilities (both business and leadership), as well as necessary competences of the subordinates
    • Learn quickly and is Agile, i.e. adjusts quickly to a changing tobacco industry in terms of constant changes of respective legislation, is able to apply the changes in practice
    • Collaborate and Influence, which means rigorous collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business results
