Purpose of the job:

We are looking to expand our business unit's team with an experienced solutions architect. You will join a high growth business unit that is bringing the best assets of Altran together in a unique model that changes the way software companies goes about operating their engineering organizations and product development. Our approach is breaking new grounds in the market and challenges many of the established norms and behaviors when it comes to how software engineering is done. The perfect challenge for an experienced and seasoned solutions architect!

The Solutions Architect will define and architect Altran's client solutions based on Altran service capabilities and assets and develop Altran's business in the North America market. The candidate will be part of a distributed team and collaborate closely with other engineering and business units within the Altran Group. With its North American Headquarter in the San Francisco Bay area, Altran Software & Digital Business Unit provides a world-leading portfolio of design- and development services to bring fantastic digital experiences to our client's end-users. Altran has some 45,000 experts worldwide, the business unit brings together the relevant assets to help clients develop new digital platforms, SaaS-products, and Digital Experiences. Our clients are some of the most renowned software companies on the planet, from venture-backed technology challengers to the most well-known and respected technology companies. BU Software & Digital operates under three different brand names: Aricent, Lohika, and Altran. The candidate will lead technical activities across the brands for a worldwide client portfolio.

 

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Solutions Architect/Technology Consultant
  • Work closely with the global Altran team to define and architect complex software solutions for a client, using Altran's global capabilities and proprietary assets
  • Help Altran clients stay ahead of leading-edge technology changes, provide on-site consulting work to clients
  • Collaborate with clients' engineering leaders to ensure the right architecture and technology choices are made from the start, implement the next generation processes and engineering practices, troubleshoot and solve urgent engineering issues when internal teams require specialists to immediately find solutions
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional communities Sales Engineering
  • Collaborate with business development teams to understand client's requirements and provide sales support
  • Participate in sales meetings as a technical expert, provide services' technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Prepare and lead technical workshops for clients to convey the superior solution provided by Altran
  • Create content for new case studies, service offerings and micro-verticals together with technical, business and marketing leaders within the company
  • Be involved in opportunity preparations
  • Define the appropriate solutions based on Altran service capabilities and assets
  • Serve as the main collaboration point for engineering to define the right solution for a client
  • Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range risks that must be addressed, recommend options and courses of action, implement a mitigation plan
  • Thought leadership and in-direct market engagement
  • Work closely with marketing and engineering to create innovative content such as blog posts, white papers to drive thought leadership for the business unit
  • Produce technical collateral for multiple channels of communications with a focus on website and social media
  • Develop marketing materials consistent with the Company image and market position
  • Coordinate and contribute to content editorial together with peers in the company
  • Contribute actively to Altran social media channels (Web, LinkedIn, and Twitter) as a technical ambassador
  • Evangelize Altran's service offerings at events and in communities, participate as an active speaker at local events

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

MUST HAVE:

  • 8+ years of experience, with at least 1 year in a relevant role (Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Technology Consultant, Staff Engineer, Developer Advocate, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, verbal and written) to explain complex technical topics in an easily digestible manner
  • Experience in modern architectures, testing, data processing solutions, automated deployment pipelines, etc.
  • At least 5+ years hands-on engineering experience using any modern stack (Java, .NET, JS, Ruby, Go, etc.) or at least 3+ years hands-on DevOps experience using modern tools (Docker, K8S, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of distributed computing and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) to build large scale solutions with the latest generation of technologies, preferably from cloud-native foundation project
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task, work well in the fast-paced environment
  • Experience from a fast-paced start-up or growth company is highly desirable
  • Intellectually curious and driven by results
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or related field
