Automotive

Next to our logistics services, E. van Wijk and its strong local partners, are active in the automotive sector in Romania, Moldova and Ukraine. In Romania and Moldova, EVW Holding is amongst others the unique DAF Trucks, Tata, Isuzu and VDL dealer, and seller of Paccar Parts. In Ukraine, DAF Truck Centre Lviv and Lions Trucks Odessa are the DAF Trucks and Paccar Parts dealer for Western and Southern Ukraine ( www.daf-trucks.lviv.ua ).

For the coming years, our strategy is aimed on sustainable growth, and development of our quality services to our clients. For our organization in Ukraine, we are looking for a General Manager E. van Wijk Logistics Ukraine. From our strategic location in Solonka, Lviv, the company operates a modern and secured warehouse of 2500m2, used for contract logistics, storage and cross-docking services. Combined with the transport department and own fleet of trucks and our freight forwarding team we can organize any logistics solution, both national and international.

The candidate should have a relevant ( minimum 6 years ) working experience, preferably in the transport/logistics industry, excellent management and communication skills, knowledge about import/export and customs regulations, and the ability to engage with operational, commercial, financial and HR matters. Home-base will be Solonka, Lviv.

Responsibilities for the General Manager:

• Provides leadership to the assigned operating company
• Being in charge of the general day-to-day management
• Manage goals and objectives, lead and develop team
• Managing the organizational structure
• Steering on creating and planning of orders in a cost effective and efficient way
• Steering on P&L budget, and operational indicators
• Follow up on enquiries of our clients, organize orders
• Coordinating activities of the department supervisors (Transport, Forwarding, Warehousing)
• Lead negotiations with existing and new clients, build relationships
• Steering on on-time performance of orders and trips, correction execution of orders
• Taking care of efficient capacity, material, human resources planning
• Coordinating forwarding activities, and manage contacts with sub-contractors and agents
• Recruiting personnel
• Performing activities to training, education and development of staff
• Follows up on corporate guidelines and procedures
• Maintain compliance with operational policies and reporting
• Identifies new opportunities, introduces new business, expands business
• Cooperates with business relations and E. van Wijk Group affiliates
• Works closely together with accounting department and Financial Director
• Reports to the Managing Director E van Wijk Logistics Poland & Ukraine

Essential qualities:

• Minimum 6 years checkable work history and relevant experience
• Managerial skills and ability to develop high performing teams
• Affinity with transport/logistics, and/or determined to develop skills related to this industry
• Experience with import/export procedures, and customs regulations
• Existing network contacts in Ukraine and nearby countries (CIS, Central Asia) and preferably with Western and Central Europe
• English spoken ( professional level ), Russian/Ukrainian spoken ( native )
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Dynamic and proactive style, trustworthy and reliable
• Entrepreneurial, innovative and flexible character, shows initiative to take a lead when hurdles arise
• International character and oriented, with a commercial drive
• Affinity with IT, and proficient with MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Willingness to travel, if needed, including internationally
