Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international non-governmental organisation that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services, including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety-related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations and training. 

INSO provides daily support to more than 1000 NGOs operating in 16 of the world’s most insecure countries. 

INSO is headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands- the international city of peace and justice. 

 INSO Ukraine

INSO Ukraine opened in 2015. Since the escalation of conflict in February 2022, it has rapidly expanded to a full platform serving the needs of NGOs in a fast-evolving conflict. Currently, 200 national and international NGOs receive INSO services. Our country office is in Kyiv, supported by field offices in Lviv, Dnipro, and Odesa. The scale and intensity of the Ukraine conflict have seen significant humanitarian safety challenges. As part of INSO Ukraine, you will play a key role in developing impactful services for humanitarian safety and helping aid to reach people in need.

 INSO is now seeking two Training Assistants – logistics based in Lviv. 

Job Summary

As a Training Assistant – Logistics you will contribute to the preparation, organization and delivery of training courses, to assist both national and international NGOs in organizational safety and crisis management, as well as personal risk mitigation and humanitarian access.

 To be the successful candidate you need to have a strong procurement and technical background in the NGO sector, to be outgoing, inquisitive and detail oriented, and to have significant experience contributing to the implementation of complex training courses or events. You will above all else share INSO’s commitment to humanitarian principles.

 This position, opened to Ukrainian nationals only, reports to the Training Manager and is based in Lviv with possible (not frequent) movements to Kyiv.

 Major Responsibilities

Manage equipment, stocks, and supplies for training courses and the Training Centre

Identify training providers (meals, actors for role-playing, training supplies, printer, etc.).

Set up the necessary purchasing procedures and proceed to purchases, ensure the quality control and store properly training materials. 

Manage stocks (inventories and maintenance) of training materials. Monitor the supply needs. 

Prepare the training material for each training session (printing and materials) and set up the drills with the trainers (first aid and immersive scenes).

Supervise suppliers work and contracts, including building or maintenance works in the Training centre.  

 Support the implementation of training courses

Coordinate the intervention of training providers (catering, actors, research team).

Participate in the facilitation of certain pedagogical workshops, including driving INSO vehicles during practical drills with participants. 

Set up training and catering areas before and during the sessions.

Job requirements

At least 3 years’ experience in logistics including procurement and stock management

Valid driving license

Effective use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact with different types of people

Strong ability to organise and file data and documents efficiently

Clear understanding of humanitarian principles and practices

Personal skills

Ability to work in a multicultural team

Ability to represent INSO in a professional and exemplary manner

Willingness to work in a demanding environment

Autonomy in work

 Terms and Conditions 

12-month renewable contract with a 3-month probationary period. Expected start date May, 2023, Gross salary 60 000 UAH.
