Tasks and Responsibilities

 

 

The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer and overall guidance of the Director of Administration and Finance performs basic maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment and other small jobs and repairs in Mission offices.

 

  1. Technical maintenance of the generators. Weekly maintenance include fuel level control, check for technical fluids leakage, condition of the accumulator batteries, refuelling, adding winter additives, launching in case of emergencies (e.g. absence of power in the building);
  2. Checking Mission offices state and its equipment (kitchen, WC, shredders, furniture) on the regular basis according to the schedule confirmed and distributing supplies of coffee, tea, milk, sugar; keeping control over A/C's functioning, bulb replacement, technical state of the office premises;
  3. Collecting and distributing supplies of stationery, paper, foodstuff, ICT-equipment and other necessary equipment upon requests, receiving and distributing water bottles on the weekly basis, replacing water bottles in the water coolers throughout the Mission premises on the daily basis;
  4. Assembling and installation of desks, shelves and other furniture in offices and other Mission areas; carrying out maintenance and repair work on furniture; minor work on other equipment;
  5. Participation in relocation processes; moving furniture and equipment, inspection them for repair; hanging up notice boards, TV-sets, pictures using relevant tools and fixings;
  6. Checking cleaning, household, refreshments supplies in stock and informing the supervisor when stocks are low, facilitation in order for the month relevant supplies;
  7. Installation of sockets, switchers within office premises; minor sanitary engineering works;
  8. Preparation of the Missions conference and rooms for official events and provide logistical support for events;
  9. Providing assistance with cleaning outside perimeter and HO forefront from snow and ice;
  10. Providing assistance in loading/unloading, packing/unpacking of equipment, supplies, and materials;
  11. Performing other duties as required. May be called to drive official vehicles.

 

 

Necessary Qualifications

 

 

  • Ukrainian citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Ukraine;
  • Completed secondary education;
  • One year working experience in crafts, building/masonry, carpentry/woodwork, electrics or another trade;
  • Professional fluency in Ukrainian and Russian languages, both oral and written;
  • Working knowledge of English, both oral and written;
  • Valid driving licence;
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy items;
  • Team spirit with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds whilst remaining impartial and objective;
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
  • Cultural sensitivity and judgement;
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and with limited time frames;
  • Ability to cope with physical hardship and willingness to work extra hours and in an environment with limited infrastructure;
  • Proven resilience to high stress environments.

 

 

Remuneration Package

 

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions is 601.00 Euro/month. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme and social security / Provident Fund. Appointments are normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale.
