Terre des hommes is looking for a proactive, energetic, and organised Driver of vehicles, to join its team in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, to support in the implementation of its projects.

ROLE DESCRIPTION 

The Driver is responsible for providing secure and timely driving services to support passengers and/or official goods and any other tasks as required by the delegation. S/he is required to follow strict instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages specialized motor vehicles under various road and weather conditions, taking into account the structure, technical capabilities and requirements of operating rules assigned to it machinery and equipment.
• Checks daily the general condition of the vehicle and its cleanliness (checks engine oil and brake fluid, water, brakes, tyre pressure, battery acid, etc.);
• Complies with the requirements of traffic rules, rules of transportation of goods and people.
• Manages specialized equipment that is installed on the vehicle.
• Controls the cost efficiency of fuel/diesel and lubricants and other consumables.
• Fills vehicles with the necessary fuel/diesel, stores all supporting primary documents (fiscal checks, checks, receipts) and passes them to supervisors. Provides storage and use of fuel cards.
• Checks the technical condition of the vehicle before leaving the park and after returning to the park.
• Ensures safety parking places;
• Uses a route and orienteering scheme.
• Provides first aid to victims during a traffic accident.
• Keeps track of timely car insurance renewals and necessary documents in case of international travels;
• Maintains vehicle logbook on daily basis as in paper form and as in electronic excel form;
• Checks and participates in the loading and unloading of the vehicle and corrects this process, if necessary.
• Notifies the supervisor immediately of any accidents, damage, attacks, or theft concerning the vehicle.
• Takes an active part in counting and receiving goods, collects kits when it is necessary.

YOUR PROFILE 

Education / Qualifications 

• Completion of Primary Education or equivalent technical or commercial school;
• Valid category B driving license since at least 5 years; safe driving record; knowledge in practice of regulations on labor and environmental protection, safe traffic.
• Ability to provide first aid.

Experience

• Minimum 3 year of experience in a similar role;
• Experience extreme driving in emergencies
• Previous experience of working within a multi-national team or project environment is highly desirable;
• Excellent knowledge of the road system of West and Central regions of Ukraine;
• Basic routine maintenance and vehicle handling skills;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills;
• Willingness to be flexible and prepared to contribute to the organization in other duties as required.

Languages:

• Fluent Ukrainian and Russian, English skills is the advantage, but not required.

IT Knowledge:

Experience in using such computer software as Microsoft Office, knowledge of database package MS Excel. Basic computer skills.
