Financial controller (with relocation to Lviv)

Our partners -Expert Petroleum (XP) is an oilfield service company looking for Financial Controller

Main responsibilities:

• Performs the quality check for all SAP registrations on each type of investments, certifying the related supporting documents.
• Performs the quality check for all SAP registration on all OPEX elements certifying the related supporting documents.
• Verifies document's compliance with the internal procedures and legal requirements (Approvals for Expenditures, materials, projects receptions, minute of meeting for commissioning, etc.)
• Drafts the monthly CAPEX reports as well as special projects expenditures no later than 10th working day of the month for the previous month.
• Draft Approvals for expenditures and monitors its path; creates and maintains in SAP all internal controlling orders
• Offers support to all departments when needed to interpret and understand the information offered
• Performs the monthly estimations for CAPEX, OPEX and special projects expenditures
• Performs systematic checks of accounting records ensuring the matching between cost elements and related cost centers and performs analysis of the respective records highlighting any deviations from the usual values.
• Performs the delegated tasks from the annual budgeting process for the other department from a values perspective and ensures compliance within agreed timeline.
• Maintains supporting documents for invoicing of the special projects' expenditures
• Performs specific analysis as per the request of the Financial Manager
• Monitors on a monthly basis the balance sheet for OPEX as well as the on-going investments and manages the process for registering fixed assets in SAP
• Highlights and reports all non-compliance issues for non-observing: legal provisions in force, internal procedures and proposes updates for the internal procedures if needed or required
• Prepares supportive documents for the external audit related to selected CAPEX, special projects expenditures and OPEX
• Ensures timely delivering of all reports, providing also short and clear ad-hoc analysis as requested or needed.

The candidate should have:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• Abilities to communicate effectively in English both written and oral.
• Solid SAP knowledge.
• Experienced with business financial model that forecasts income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Knowledge and understanding of local regulatory policies
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• At least 3 years working experience in the oil & gas industry in a financial department, preferably as controller or big four as an auditor for oil & gas companies
• Strong business acumen
• Problem solving attitude
• Proven ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work with key stakeholders and external partners/advisors through collaboration and teamwork
• Any of the following certifications ACCA, CIMA, CPA, will be considered as advantage
