We are looking the Cost Accounting Manager for our client. It's a manufacturing solutions provider that delivers comprehensive design, manufacturing, supply chain and product management services, with the power of over 200,000 people across 100 sites strategically located around the world.
JOB SUMMARY
The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for accuracy, analysis and forecasting of current and future cost initiatives. Specific activities may include: control over costing activities and proper reflection of such costs in financial books, control over company's exposure on balance, facilitating timely and accurate period closing activities and internal reporting, supporting and managing forecasting process, other discretionary projects as directed by management.
FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment and Retention:
· Recruit, interview and appoint team members.
· Communicate criteria to recruiters for candidates/positions.
Coach staff in the interviewing/hiring process.
· Drive collaboration with finance, operations, and business development functions.
· Monitor team member turnover; identify key factors that can be improved; make improvements.
Employee and Team Development:
· Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.
· Create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.
· Coach and mentor team to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.
· Create and manage succession plans for team members
Cost Management and Direction:
- Know, understand and support costing activities for the plant (PPV, SPV, BFV) and as well proper Inventory cost management
- Maintain an understanding of period closing activities and facilitate proper and timely closure of financial books
- Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT CONSIDERATIONS
- Advise and provide financial support and analysis around current business models and help recommend future enhancements for operations and business development activities.
- Inventory, Variance reporting, Quarterly Business Reviews, Forecast/Planning processes, and analytical review analysis around key performance indicators.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of costing activities (Variances: PPV, BFV, SPV) related to inventory accounting
- Strong proficiency in forecasting activities
- Profound understanding of accounting standard
- Understanding of taxation principles
- Strong financial and analytical ability
- Proficiency required in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), SAP, using Cube databases.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Five (5) years work-related experience required, preferably in accounting/finance related experience preferred.
- Advance certifications and/or degrees appreciated : ACCA, DipIFR, CPA, etc.
- Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
