The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 19,000-field staff.

In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Dnipro, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Odesa.

The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the position of Protection of Family Links Field Officer (PFL) in Kyiv.

Purpose: 

The Protection of Family Links (PFL) Field Officer 1 carries out activities relating to the protection of family links (PFL), particularly linked to the data management and to the PFL beneficiaries who enquired to open a case or opened cases in/for Ukraine.

Functional general responsibilities:

• Proceed with the opening of “tickets”, categorization, and attribution of enquiries and documented cases received in the STM;
• Acknowledge receipt to the internal senders and external enquirers, as needed;
• Transmit enquiries internally within the delegation (coordination, PFL/DET/FOR/Data coordination and field teams in GCA/NGCA, CCC Hotline, as well as other Prot and Assist departments as needed);
• Follow-up with the concerned colleagues to ensure that cases are duly received and that TCs, when needed, are collected (ex. TCs reopened, etc.), ensure the case is properly transmitted to the PFL/DET/FOR Focal Persons in charge;
• Ensure the TC collected contains relevant consent and signature
• Provide regular reporting to the RFL delegate 2 on trends and statistics concerning the cases in the STM;
• Contribute to adapting and updating the STM procedures and workflows.
• Register, record and respond to the correspondence received from Authorities/ NGOs/ Associations accordingly
• Translate documents for informal use

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong experience in data management; experience on Prot6, FLA and Aspera Faspex is an asset)
• University degree or equivalent.
• Good and rigorous organizational skills
• Good oral and written communication skills in Ukrainian and English 
•  Excellent command of English and Ukrainian; another language is an asset.
• Very good computer proficiency.
