Head of Purchasing

The Role

Home Group is looking for a Head of Purchasing for its Rivne facility to manage its purchasing process, decrease costs and improve the performance of our raw material suppliers. The head of Purchasing will be based at operations in Rivne (900+ employees), will report directly to the Group Supply Chain Director and will be assigned to the Factory Manager of the Rivne factory. In his role, the Head of Purchasing will cooperate with the factory logistics team, the purchasing team in other Group factories, and with Ukrainian as well as European and Chinese suppliers of raw materials, indirect materials and services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct critical analysis of the existing purchasing process, redesign and implement optimum process of factory supply of the raw materials, such as fabrics, fittings, foam, etc.; secure timely delivery and no-stop/replanning on production due to lack of raw materials.
• Search and negotiation with new suppliers, onboarding of new and termination of old suppliers, following up on performance of their suppliers.
• Contract management, review of delivery and payment terms, secure best landed price and supplier performance.
• Lead two Purchasing Specialists; supervise vendors related to purchasing activities (transport, customs clearance, etc); secure delivery to purchasing process from other departments, i.e. warehouse, logistics, etc.
• Inventory management, improve planning and order procedures to optimize stock levels, support solutions to manage slow-moving articles.
• Supervise indirect material supply and services to contribute to overall factory financial results.
• Report purchasing KPIs, as well as analyze them and act on deviations.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional projects related to purchasing, i.e. planned implementation of ERP system, tolling scheme.

Profile

• Male/female Senior Professional with proven purchasing track record in industrial business, preferably with fabrics and fittings or similar raw material categories.
• Leadership experience would be an advantage.
• Excellent planning skills, big data analysis, critical thinking, customer-focus and process management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships and to influence without direct authority.
• Upper-Intermediate English language is a must, knowledge of Polish/Russian/Lithuanian language would be an advantage.
• Digital literacy (Advanced Excel is a must).
