Construction Manager (brownfield project)

Morgan Furniture is a furniture factory producing sofas and sofabeds for customers in 22 countries worldwide. Morgan Furniture is located in Rivne, Ukraine, and belongs to Home Group Holding, among the largest European producers of upholstered furniture in the world. After significant investments in its operations 2018, the Ukrainian factory is now the biggest factory in the Group. Current team size in Ukraine is 800+ employees.

The Role

Home Group is looking for a Construction Manager to lead renovation of the old industrial building for startup of the Foam Plant (chemical production). Foam Plant will become part of entire value chain of the furniture production in Rivne replacing external foam supplier. This is a temporary position reporting directly to Project Manager (expatriate). End of the project planned for September 2020.

Responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure renovation of the plant building 10.000 m2 size.
• Define and implement infrastructure design to meet provided technological requirements of the foam production (climate control, power connection, ventilation, fire-sensitive protection, etc.).
• Secure compliance to Ukrainian legislation norms and getting necessary permits for successful plant commissioning.
• Build and follow up on construction budget, conduct tenders with services suppliers, assess risk, review and sign Contracts that best serve business needs.
• Supervise construction services providers on site, ensure meeting quality, budget and time-plan requirements.
• Consult other project team members on infrastructure engineering matters.
• Regular reporting to Project Manager and Project Steering Group on progress.

Requirements

• Male/female professional with experience in industrial infrastructure management
• Project management skills preferably with international exposure.
• Knowledge of infrastructure engineering legislation and relevant norms in Ukrainian legislation, ability to challenge the authority and argument own position.
• Upper-Intermediate English and Ukrainian language is a must, knowledge of Lithuanian/Polish language would be an advantage.
• Integrity, can-do attitude, ability to build relationship with stakeholders internally and externally.
• Services suppliers' management skills.
